Darken Suns-camp

"Your welcome Slade. Do you need anything else?"

"Not at the momment, thank you." he said, chewing a chunk of deer. "What about you Rusalka ?" he asked.

Rusalka showed Finnick and Akira the deer meat. "This is your food now. Its very tasty." Their eyes were glowing with excitement. Finnick and Akira raced to see who would try out the strange new food first. Akira got there first, but Finnick was close behind. They cautiously poked and prodded at it before they started licking it. Finnick liked the taste very much and started gnawing at it.

"Oh, right. Thank you." Rusalka was busy with the pups and hadnt heard a word Slade or Cloud said.

Cloud burst into a quiet laughter. "It was so funny when somebody didn't hear a word you said but they just said something." She thought.

Finnick had eaten his whole piece of deer. His snow white face was covered in blood. He had loved the deer very much. "Papa, what is a deer?" he asked.

Slade smiled at the eager pups. "Deer is your food now, Finnick. They are a four legged animal that eats grass. When we are ready to leave this den, I'll show you what they look like." he promised.
Akira finished her chunk of meat and grinned."I can't wait to see a deer !" she exclaimed while licking around her mouth.

Rusalka smiled. Her pups were very happy to see a deer. She looked at Slade. "When should we leave?" she asked.

White Cloud was listening to the conversation between Rusalka and Slade to make sure she didn't miss out on any bits of information that they might slip out.

"Hmmm.... whenever you're ready, I suppose. Since it's midday, we could probably make it back home by nightfall if we leave now." he said, thinking about how far they would have to walk. "That is, if we keep a rather brisk pace..."

"Are you sure your up to going back? You can stay and rest for another day if you need and I can get you the stuff you need." White Cloud was happy that they wanted to leave but she wasn't sure that they should go that far today. "It might be better if they rest just one more day!" She thought.

"I think we could leave. I feel strong enough today" Rusalka said. Finnick really wanted to leave. He had never seen much outside of the camp they were in.

"Ok if you feel up to it Im always up for it. We better get going or else we might get trapped by the dark." White Cloud wasn't scared of the dark but she knew better than to be stuck in the dark for there are many dangerous wolves that like to stay out at night. She was quite glad however, that they had decided to go back. Being in someone elses territory always made her feel weird.

Slade smiled and rose from where he had been laying. "Alrightie then," he said in a overexagerated "eager" voice. "Let's get going, shall we ?" Akira choose that momment to run out the den, excited to go outside the den for the first time, but before she made it outside Slade leanned over and grabbed her by the scruff of her neck. He put her back down beside her brother, who was just as excited as her. "No Akira, don't do that. It's dangerous out there, and you need us to protect you." he said in a calm voice. Snakes, hawks, bears, other wolves... there were unlimited dangers out there and he would never forgive himself if something happenned to his pups. "You two need to stay with us if we are going to leave... in fact, we'll carry you un till we are in familiar territory. Understand ?" Slade turnned to Rusalka for approval. Akira looked down at her small paws and shrugged. "Yes, Papa..." she answered quietly.
